SCHOOL OF CULTURAL RESTORATION

MID-WEEK CLASSES IN BIBLE & CULTURE

GOAL AND PURPOSE:

The purpose of the School of Cultural Restoration (SCR) is to offer intensive training in the areas of Bible, history, and Art, literature, and music (the building blocks of culture) so that we may equip the members of COTR (and others) with the tools for preserving and restoring Christian culture. Given the present political and social condition of our country we expect growing opposition to Christianity and the Church, as well as attacks upon the culture that the Church has built over the past 2000 years. We must make extra effort to prepare ourselves – being filled with the Word so that we may know how to live (practicing the word); we must understand the history of our own country and the world (learning from the past so that they can see the errors of the present and the dangers the future holds), and they must grow in an love of the fruits of the Word in the world (the culture of Christendom – art, music, literature, economics, architecture, science, medicine, etc.), learning to love beauty and committed to preserving it, and learning how to beautify the world, moving the world from glory to glory (building upon the foundations that have been laid).

SCR will be held on Wednesday evenings (in five-week sessions), with 2 or 3 classes running simultaneously each Wednesday evening during the session. We will always have a Bible class (studying a particular portion of God’s Word or an application of the Word, practical Christian living) and another class on history, art, music, etc.
